With the huge interest in the Just Blaze Producer’s Spotlight I posted a few days ago, I had to get this sample collection out there. You can consider this a samples companion to that post. It’s only missing three samples, which I do not have, nor can I find. If anyone has the following, hit me up:
The Independents’ “In The Valley of My World”
Ray Davies’ “Sting of the Serpent”
J. Geils Band’s “Southside Shuffle”
If you listen to the rest of these samples and then listen to Just Blaze’s composition, you can hear that Jus’ is simply amazing. I particularly liked how he flipped Rose Royce’s “I’m Going Down” for the beat to “Oh Boy”. And the way he used the Supertramp sample for Fabolous’ “Breathe” was pretty interesting too.
I’m even more eager now to find Just Blaze samples. Even more so, I think, than I was trying to hunt down Kanye samples. Who knows? Maybe there will be a part 2 to this post in the future. Also, it got kind of tedious to search and post album art, so I decided to switch up the format.
