American Gangster Remixes: Round 9

by Kevin on December 12, 2007

The Remix Kid: American GangsterAlright, people are starting to step their game up!  This’ll be the last post for tonight, but I just had to throw this one in the ring.  This American Gangster remix album comes from The Remix Kid, straight out of New York.

I was initially intrigued when I saw the cover… CLASSIC!  Very simple, yet nicely done.  This guy doesn’t use any gimmicks either.  This is his version of American Gangster.  His beats, done his way.  I was enthralled with the concept of his intro… an introduction to New York City & Jay-Z over a gangster-themed sample.  This one may not be the best of the bunch, but it’s definitely one to check out; very solid beats!  Hit up his MySpace to sample individual tracks.

Yeah, the production on this one is pretty hot! I like how he didn’t go with a gimmick, but stuck with the original American Gangster theme.

Word! Last night I really listened to it and was very inpressed. My homie thinks it’s better than the original! Big ups to the Remix Kid!

I thought this outshined everything else that was out there. Hip hop as it should be, it was a straight banger from beginning to end. Definitely worth a listen!
