Trav Williams: P.O.E. (Preponderance Of Evidence)

It’s been a long time coming, but Ft. Lauderdale emcee Trav Williams is ready to make a comeback. First heard in 2008 with his debut project, The Trickle Down, Trav became a fav here at KN… so much, in fact, that we invited him to record to our Illmatic remix project and dub it IllTravis in 2009. Four years and a few mixtapes later, Trav Williams is gearing up to drop P.O.E. (Preponderance of the Evidence).  Similar to IllTravis, P.O.E. is a flip on a classic 90s album — Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt. Production is provided by Skidmatik, Keenan, and Trav’s long time partner in rhyme, Pee Duble. This blend of production styles allows Trav to reintroduce himself as a dope emcee/storyteller, and demand the respect that he has garnered with previous projects. P.O.E. is proof that Trav belongs in the conversation as one of the dopest “unheard” emcees in the the game. If you didn’t believe it after The Trickle Down or IllTravis, then May 7th will serve as Trav’s Easter. You will believe! Read More »

Jermiside + Jonathan Lowell: A Dream of Consciousness

Lessondary Crew member Jermiside hooks up with producer Jonathan Lowell to bring you the new project, A Dream of Consciousness, a 10-track album for free download sponsored by “This project started as a couple one-off tracks sent back and forth probably about a year ago. If anybody follows my music you know I’m a sucker for the 1 MC/1 Producer combo. I don’t know many producers who work as hard as Jonathan Lowell and his work ethic matches my love for simply rapping my ass off. This isn’t a conceptual recording by far, its basically a stream of thoughts at random times, however I felt the day Jon sent the beat through. So fittingly the sound is sporadic at moments & perfectly cohesive at others, futuristic, soulful, lo-fi and any other adjective you can think of all wrapped up in a 10 song outing. Look out for a gang of new releases from us both respectively in 2013.” — Jermiside Read More »

Fidel Hasflow: LoFidel

Miami born MC/producer Fidel Hasflow, unplugs himself from the digital world to create this properly titled KN sponsored instrumental project,  LoFidel.  1/2 member of Kentucky’s legendary The Dead Kids crew (LoFidel x JeffreyCeez), LoFidel brings that nostalgic, analog, dirty, and natural sound back into perspective.  An example of MPC mastery, this project is totally detached from the digital matrix that the common ear may be used to.  Some real shit for the heads!
