Ken Rebel: Wreal Niggaz (feat. Emani) [Music Video]

Building upon last year’s extraordinary compilation album, the A3C Hip-Hop Festival has once again partnered with iHipHop Distribution to bring a diverse array of new hip-hop to fans across the globe with A3C Volume 3. Last year’s album, A3C Volume 2, built upon 2011’s innovative compilation to showcase a new wave of premier talent from across the country. The first single from A3C Volume 3 is “Wreal Niggaz” by the flourishing Brooklyn MC, Ken Rebel. In the past year, Ken has received praise for his R.E.B.E.L. mixtape, which solidified his style of taking hip-hop back to the essence, while presenting his own unique perspective on coming up in New York City. Ken has also received praise for his fashion sense from publications such as Complex. Both avenues of acclaim intersect in the music video for “Wreal Niggaz” featuring Emani. The video is truly a representation of the New York scene, from its braggadocio street corner rhymes to its prominent nod to streetwear culture. The treatement for “Wreal Niggaz” was written by Ken, who also produced the track, and the video was shot Joshua Irby and edited by Jonathan Williams. Read More »

How To Get Involved At Next Year’s A3C

One of the great things about A3C, in addition to the abundance of performances, is their very educational panels. Phenom Black caught some video footage of the first panel that took place this year, which went along the lines of festival etiquette (or festiquette). This is a MUST WATCH for any artist wanting to get put on at A3C. And while you watch this, allow me to get on my soapbox for a minute. If you are an artist and you are serious about getting put on, START PLANNING NOW to be at next year’s A3C. Whether you are performing or not; just be there. The networking opportunity alone will do so much to advance your career. And just because you didn’t get selected to perform on a stage doesn’t mean that there isn’t an opportunity for you to perform. We here at KN get flooded with requests to perform on our stage every year and of course we can’t book everyone, but every single year we have at least one artist that cancels at the last minute. This year we had two cancellations, which allowed us to put on two artist on the spot. So in short, Informative Panels + Networking + Slight Possibility of Last Minute Performance = Your Ass Needs To Be There. Check out the video above. Read More »
