In 2003, with his group Lawless Element, Detroit MC/Producer Magnif released “The Shining” produced by J Dilla. Almost 10 years after his last official release, he returns with an exclusive unheard J Dilla produced banger “The Shining Pt. 2.” “The Shining” (Pt. 1) was a 12” single released in 2003 where Dilla created a tailor-made beat and laid down the scratches on the track. The group went on to work with Dilla again in 2004 on the Magnif-produced track “Love”, where Dilla lent his last recorded guest appearance. With plans for future work, Dilla gave Magnif batches of exclusive instrumentals, which is where the beat for “The Shining Pt. 2” comes from. In 2014 Magnif has a new focus and new material. This track is a slight glimpse of what’s to come with his upcoming debut solo project, MagnifIAm as well as a full-length album with Queens producer, Ayatollah. Read More »

Like most people I enjoy the sounds of J Dilla. Ive also never attempted to draw him.
